On Monday we returned from a beautiful trip to Holland at Best Kept Secret Festival. After a day spent exploring the beautiful city of Eindhoven we headed over to Beekse Bergen to find a beautiful festival ready to open it’s doors to thousands of fans. We saw The Libertines début new material from their long awaited third album for the first time ever, Noel Gallagher hint at a new collaboration with Jamie XX and some incredible performances from Future Islands, Hookworms, The Tallest Man On Earth, John Coffey, Pissed Jeans, Black Mountain, SOHN and countless more! The Prog Awards announced their nominations for this year’s ceremony with Anathema up for ‘Best Event’ Maybeshewill nominated for the ‘Limelight’ award and Amplifier and The Pineapple Thief up for ‘Best Album’ respectively. Cast your vote here!
In touring news, Metal Hammer broke the news that Black Moth will be heading out on a string of dates with legendary industrial rock band Sisters Of Mercy in October, including dates at Leeds Beckett and London Roundhouse. Dialects have also announced they will be heading out on tour with Iceland’s Sólstafir for six shows across the UK this July!
News from Beacons Metro & Belgrave Music Hall came in the form of Headrow House, a new multi-floor event space and bar opening in Leeds this October. The new home of Beacons Metro, who have already announced an exciting series of events across Leeds and Manchester including Mac DeMarco, Titus Andronicus and Pissed Jeans.
Terrorizer streamed a new track from London stoner rockers Limb as they announced their new album ‘Terminal’ while My Dying Bride have announced their new album on Peaceville Records, to be released on September 18th. Terrorizer have the details!
Sheffield’s 65daysofstatic spoke to The Guardian Guide about creating a ‘Soundtrack to infinity’ for the hugely anticipated PS4 game, No Man’s Sky. Elsewhere, contemporary arts organisation East Street Arts has announced they will be holding open studios this July from the 11th – 12th . We’re also very proud to be working with Leeds institution and oldest pub Whitelocks as part of their 300th birthday year!
