Another busy week which saw the announcement of more artists for both Best Kept Secret and Live At Leeds festivals as well as the news that we will be working with the brilliant Dep Arts to help deliver an exciting cultural programme for the Rugby World Cup. We also had the good fortune of revealing a new live video from Katatonia which premiered over at Metal Hammer, while Norway’s Dødheimsgard are featured in Metal Hammer, Terrorizer and Zero Tolerance this month. On top of that we’re going to be working with German Label Pelagic Records. We also found the time to eat some unbelievable Ramen courtesy of Fu Schnickens at Belgrave Music Hall & Canteen.

The week started off strong with the news that Best Kept Secret would be adding to their already massive line up! A$ap Rocky, Ride, The Pop Group and Temples lead the announcement joining Alt-J, The Libertines, SOHN, Future Islands, Black Mountains and loads more already announced. Live At Leeds followed with their second announcement with 50 more bands and artists announced including Lucy Rose, Rhodes, Raleigh Ritchie, Brawlers and Misty Miller.

We spent some time in Millenium Square this week with Dep Arts Director, David Edmunds and Councillor Lucinda Yeadon celebrating the announcement that Dep Arts has joined forces with Leeds City Council to bring a number of interactive, innovative and city-wide experiences under the umbrella TRY.

Elsewhere, Metal Hammer premiered a new clip from Katatonia’s upcoming live DVD ‘Sanctitude’ The 80-minute set was filmed at London’s stunning Union Chapel is the product of the band reimagining and reworking some of their older material and operating outside of their comfort zones to beautiful effect. ‘Sanctitude’ is released March 30th through Kscope on Blu-ray, CD and DVD, double vinyl and download formats.

Dødheimsgard are featured in the latest issues of  Metal Hammer, Terrorizer and Zero Tolerance ahead of the release of their first new album since 2007’s Supervillain Outcast.

We’re also very excited to announce we’re going to be working with German Label Pelagic Records. Home to the likes of Mono, The Ocean and Cult of Luna, Pelagic are a label that are responsible for some incredible music. The first two releases are from French prog/alternative rock band Klone and Mono guitarist Taka’s solo album. Both are due out on 27th April. Clash premiered a track from Taka’s album earlier this week -

We also, during all of this, found the time to head over to The Belgrave Music Hall to the second of their Food Lab series, this one featuring Fu Schnickens serving up some of their unbelievable Ramen dishes. Straight after that we headed over to Leeds Minster to catch a stunning performance from Anathema who are currently on an acoustic tour of cathedrals in the UK. They were also featured on Drowned in Sound this month as part of an interview looking back at their 20+ year career -

What a week!
