Beacons Festival
Beacons Festival is taking a break in 2015 to try something new. Having began life late in 2010 with the first festival scheduled for 2011, a team of local Leeds promoters took over the popular Moor Music Festival. 2011 had a turbulent birth with the festival cancelled due to severe flooding down stream and closing all routes into site.
I Like Press took over PR for the 2012 event with the festival, branding it the first Beacons and concentrated PR on a newer, more secure site. The response was incredible. The festival has had a strong presence across all media since including MTV, 6 Music, Vice/ Noisey, NME, Creative Review, Guardian, The Independent, The Times, 405, Drowned in Sound, Sabotage Times to Company, Now Magazine and Red. All regional titles plus local tv (ITV Calendar, BBC Look North) plus strong links with clothing brands ASOS and Urban Outfitters and The Idle Man. Our role changed during 2014 to include assistance on partners and sponsorship, working closely with Red Bull, Urban Outfitters, Farah, Yorkshire Tea and Peugeot.
Beacons Festival was a festival which the press loved and gained very favourable reviews both nationally and regionally. The job was split between pre and post festival coverage, announcing the acts, getting Beacons mentioned in as many places as possible to contacting all the bands representatives, to accrediting media and looking after them on site. Then the huge task of collating all the coverage.
