Round up 12th June
Friday, June 12th, 2015
Another great week for Slam Dunk Festival which saw them pick up the Best Festival at last nights Relentless Kerrang awards (for the second year running). It isn’t everyday that you can take on stiff competition from the likes of Leeds / Reading Festival, Download and Sonisphere and win. We are proud to do regional press for Slam Dunk and huge congratulations to the whole team.
Wakefield is the be the place to be this weekend, with Long Division Festival kicking off on Friday with British Sea Power and The Grand. For a full festival preview and a look at the full line-up for the Saturday featuring headliners Ash, Fat White Family and Pulled Apart By Horses, check out Leeds List’s preview! Also…. If you are heading over to Long Division head to the festival clash-finder here so you have your day perfectly planned out!
In other music news, it has been a busy week in Leeds, with Beacons Metro announcing their first three live shows, including Mac DeMarco (Manchester, Albert Hall 12th September), Titus Andronicus (14th November, Headrow House) and Pissed Jeans (16th August, Belgrave Music Hall). As it comes up to summer, we are excited to see what Beacons Metro are going to throw out for us next… hold tight!
This week we also saw Paradise Lost make it into the top 3 in the official UK Rock Chart with their new album ‘The Plague Within.’ We also caught up with Tiny Fingers after their tour and got very excited over their new track ‘Music For The Sun’ premiering over on CLASH music.
In all things food, it was another great week for Patty Smith & Co, coming in at number one on Buzzfeed‘s ’21 British Street Foods You Must Try Before You Die.’ However, Buzzfeed weren’t going to miss out on Leeds’ favourite indian street food kitchen Bundobust coming in at no.20. We were also so excited to see that Northern Monk and Bundobust are up for Shortlists Pub of the Year award. Get over to Shortlist to see who else is up for the award and to vote!
But now… We’re off to Long Division.
